Life is a series of small, cohesive moments. We choose the moments we want to remember, moments that tend to contain some importance or significance to who we are. The other fragments of time simply disappear. It is these forgotten momements that interest me.

I use a digital SLR camera to capture fragments of time as a series of frames that I compile into short, stop-action films by digitally manipulating each frame. The completed films are presented as installations by projecting them onto three-dimensional objects or utilizing multi-channel television capability.

Sound is also a key element. I utilize musical instruments as well as sounds collected from my surrounding to compose pieces that follow the movements and rhythms of the videos.

To create the sound for "Face," I rubbed the microphone on my face to create multi-layers that correlate with the motions in the video. The video itself is projected onto four layers of semi-transparent fabric, with each layer containing a different amount of tension and clarity. The viewer can interact with the piece by walking between the fabric layers and viewing the piece at different angles. At times, the viewer may block the projection, becoming a part of the piece.
